

HEAD OF WARDROBE
The Head of Wardrobe is a key member of the Holiday on Ice touring team overall responsible for the outfits worn by cast and crew members during a production. In this role you will oversee the creation and maintenance of all the wardrobes used during the show. Responsible for making sure that all of the cast is dressed correctly for each scene.
In this role you will be reporting to the Technical Manager and working closely with other Heads of Department to enable the tour, travelling through Germany or Austria, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands.
What are your key tasks?
- Ensure that relevant costume requirements and performer needs are met in an efficient, effective, flexible and friendly manner at all times
- To attend technical and dress rehearsals to ensure awareness of all costume requirements and any resulting changes, and to attend production meetings as necessary
- To ensure that the staff in your team are scheduled and deployed in the most cost-effective manner and schedule staff appropriately
- To participate in the recruitment of staff to support the running wardrobe and to train, manage and schedule casual staff
- To manage wardrobe expenditure and the tracking of supplies and materials required for the running of the costume wardrobe
- To carry out and assist wardrobe staff with costume refurbishment / remake projects
- To familiarise yourself with storylines, character plots and performer pre-sets and dressing tracks
- To manage the cleaning and laundering of all costumes for the production in the manner and frequency required to maintain the appearance of the costumes
- To help maintain and keep the costume wardrobe up to date
- To ensure that the running wardrobe rooms and all costumes in dressing rooms are kept clean and tidy
- Maintain house-keeping procedures within the running wardrobe
What do you offer?
- At least 5 years of experience in wardrobe management, styling, and/or costume design
- Experience working with a variety of fabrics and materials
- Strong leadership skills and be able to effectively communicate tasks and your ideas to all members of the team
- Good written and verbal English language skills
- Good health; no vertigo or colour-blindness
- Stress-resilient and a creative problem solver
- Availability from October 2023 to the end of April 2024
