Sound Technician (M/F)

The Sound Technician is responsible for assembles, further operates and maintains the technical equipment used to record, amplify, enhance, mix or reproduce sound. He/she is part of an international crew and works closely together with other technicians in this team.

Key duties
- Reports to Technical Manager and assist with load in, run and load out of the show.
- Assessing the acoustics of the performance venue and assembling, positioning, adjusting and operating the sound equipment.
- Consulting with Performer Supervisor to determine the sound requirements.
- Monitoring audio signals to detect sound-quality deviations or malfunctions.
- Maintaining sound equipment.
- Integrating (synchronization) of pre-recorded audio (dialogue, sound effects and music) with visual content.
- Mixing and balancing speech, effects and music.


Qualifications and requirements
There are no formal academic requirements for entry, although employer prefers candidates with education in Audio Engineering.
- Have an ear and feeling for music.
- Knowledge and experience in operating of various sound desks.
- Good knowledge of Pro Tools / Cubase software applications.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
- IPAF license 1a, 3a, 3b.
- Good physical health.
- Ability to use hand or power tools and testing devices including ohmmeters and voltmeters.
- Ability to work alone and as a member of a multinational team.
- Ability to use computer – based equipment.
- Good verbal communication skills in English language.
- Ability to work and travel worldwide.
- Ability to work on height.
- Ability for flexible work schedule, which includes evening, nights and weekend work.
- Flexible attitude and a team player with his colleagues and the local technicians of the venue.
